Letter from the Editor
by Exodus Oktavia Brownlow
I’ve always had a soft-spot for beginnings.
The first installment in a trilogy.
The debut album of an artist before they go on to become the master that they were always destined to be.
There is something very beautiful about beginnings and their promise, their infantile stunning’ness. How even mistakes can be perceived as a kind of quirky decoration, a signifier of chances being taken, of perfection as merely the elated freedom of those mistakes being allowed to persist, to be preserved.
It is such a distinct honor to begin this journey with you all, our readers, for the inaugural issue of The Loveliest Review, Issue I: Beginnings.
Our seven stunning talents include creative works from Goldie Peacock, Mia Herman, Fadairo Tesleem, Justin Karcher, Ojo Victoria Ilemobayo, Dayna Copeland, and D.W. Baker.
And so, let us hold hands with one another, let us take those first steps towards the unpaved and the paved roads, with hope, idealism, and optimism saying— “Let us see where this will lead.”
